She is a full sister to the 2022 NVK Gelderlander filly champion in Ermelo: Stance, currently an elite mare (EPTM 80 dressage and 80 jumping), and NVK participant Terance, both of whom have been retained to continue the Gelderlander breeding line (see additional videos of Stance and Terance).

Possessing great presence and carriage, Usance stands out for her powerful step, mechanics, and power in movement. Her sire, Henkie (Alexandro P), performed very successfully with Adelinde Cornelisse during the World Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo and has competed at Small Tour level.

Distance's dam, the keur mare Mesalliance, held a sports predicate in dressage and became a performance mare based on the sporting achievements of her offspring.

Maternal half-siblings of Usance include Gentil (competed at ZZL level), Florance and Elegance (both Z1 level, all by Alexandro P), and the keur sport mare (Z1) Tendance (Osmium). Her granddam Mesalliance is also the granddam of the Grand Prix horse Cipollini (Laurentz) and the Z1-qualified Z.O.Z. (Elegant). A half-sister to Mesalliance is the NMK keur sport mare Ordonnance (Wagenaar).

The great-granddam, UTV champion Esperance, is the granddam of the Z-level dressage horse Bengel (Sander), M-level dressage horses Bodensa-May and Bucephalus (Parcival), Esperance II (Upperville), Z-level dressage horse Jim (Rubus B), and the M-level driving horse Ultralux (Cabochon). Additionally, for the KWPN stallions appointed for 2025 and 2026, Repelsteeltje and Tinus van het Woldhuis (Jupiler S), Esperance appears as the great-granddam in the pedigree.
