Talented Lusitano gelding 6 years

6-year-old (16 April 2020) PSL grey gelding. Height at withers approx. 1.67m. Pedigree Epico das Figueiras x Renovado.

It is with a heavy heart that we offer our wonderful Lusitano gelding Quieto for sale. Quieto is 6 years old, a handsome grey standing around 1.67 metres and a horse with great qualities for someone who wants to continue growing together with their horse.
Quieto is people-oriented, sweet and affectionate, and loves working with and for his rider. He is certainly no “dullard”: he is eager, enthusiastic and has a lot of potential. He is keen to learn and does his best for you.

Under the saddle, Quieto has a good foundation. He has a naturally spacious walk, a lovely trot and a generous, pleasant canter. The basic dressage is well established, and exercises such as leg-yield and shoulder-in are no problem either. He has the aptitude to develop further and, in my view, is suitable for someone who wants to train further with him and show him more.

Quieto is also pleasant in his interaction with other horses. He gets along well with other horses, in winter with a buddy in the paddock and in summer in a gelding group in the pasture. He is not necessarily dominant, but clearly lets it be known if he has an opinion about something. Keeping him turned out 24/7 is not a problem for him at all.

Quieto was imported directly by us from Portugal in 2024. He was comprehensively clinically and radiologically examined and approved there. The examination report is available and of course open for inspection.

Due to a busy job and two growing children who both do intensive sports, we unfortunately no longer manage to give Quieto the time and attention he deserves. We notice that he is therefore not getting enough exercise and training, and we therefore feel it is fairer to look for a place for him where someone does have the time to get to work with him and further utilise his potential.

We are therefore looking for a fine, dedicated owner for Quieto who is keen to get to work with him and wants to progress together. Someone who appreciates his willing character and can give him the attention and exercise he needs.

Quieto is definitely not a horse we want to just hand over to anyone. A good match and a bright future for him come first.
