Cato di Balia Z

Legend SMH (by Grand Slam VDL) finished twelfth in the Grand Prix of Mexico City at 1.60m on 19 April 2026. Two days earlier he was sixth in the GCL class at that same height. His branch of the Balia family branches off generations above this filly. Precisely for this reason, the evidence closer by carries the most weight.

That evidence lies with the third dam Orbbalia-W (keur, pref, prest). She produced twelve offspring and ten of them have a sport record. Great-uncle Baileys finished fourth in the Grand Prix of Drachten at 1.55m on 21 January 2018 and jumped clear in the 1.50m of Vejer de la Frontera two months later. Great-aunt RF d'Orbalia competed at CCI3*-L eventing. Hadibalia D.V. and Jaylobalia D.V. come from that same mare and both compete at 1.35m. One generation further, with fourth dam Ibalia-W, the mares carry predicates such as keur, pref, prest and Elite.

Cato di Balia Z is the fourth foal of Eloisa di Balia. Sire Corydon van T&L is a premium stallion and competed at 1.40m. He is a son of Cornado I out of a daughter by Chacco-Blue.
