13-year-old Z2 Contango x Jazz mare with quality and a golden character

ILONGA | Contango x Jazz | Z2

A talented dressage horse with quality and a golden character!

We are looking for a suitable new home for this beautiful Ilonga.

Ilonga is a 13-year-old, 1.74 m tall chestnut mare, sired by Contango x Jazz. An appealing appearance with an incredibly sweet character, a strong work ethic and potential for further development in the sport of dressage.

Sensitive, willing to work and a big heart

Ilonga is a sensitive mare, in a nice way. She is light to the aids, active, likes to think along and tries extremely hard for her rider.

Sometimes she can be a bit insecure and therefore spooky, but she stays with her rider and gives a safe and trusted feeling under the saddle.

Trust is the key with Ilonga. When you build a bond with her, you have a horse that truly wants to work for you and goes through fire for you.

Training and development

Ilonga has completed Z2 and is eligible to start in ZZ-Licht. Her training has been on a back burner for some time.

She is currently in training at RQ Stables, where we have consciously started again from the basics.

There is still progress to be made in the way she uses her body. We therefore pay a lot of attention to straightness, balance, relaxation and correct and functional body use.

Both in-hand and under the saddle, she picks up this work well and shows how much she wants to learn and cooperate.

We see in Ilonga a mare with many possibilities, provided her further development receives the time and attention she deserves.

Who is Ilonga suitable for?

We prefer a knowledgeable, calm rider with feel, who knows how to appreciate her qualities and gives her the time to develop further.

But experience is not the only thing that counts. Even a less experienced, eager-to-learn rider who is open to intensive and expert guidance can form a wonderful combination with Ilonga.

The most important thing is a rider who knows how to build trust, rides with feel and gets pleasure from the process of growing together.

A nice place where she gets plenty of turnout outside is also strongly preferred.

Guidance and training possible

To offer Ilonga and her new owner a good start, it is possible to stable her at RQ Stables and make use of our instruction and training.

This way, her current training structure can be continued and horse and rider can continue to grow together.
